Interview on DoomMantia.com

We gave an epical interview for the great DoomMantia Webzine !

Welcome barbarian doom heroes Surtr! They’re returning with their second LP “Pulvis et Umbra” to plunge our world in the very flames of Pagan Doom and Damnation! Even if one of the crew is injured others hold the banner high and they’re ready to march through Europe to get each of you wherever you hide! Yet don’t be afraid and accept Surtr riffs with your heart and soul.

Talking Pulvis et Umbra on ToP

We answered a few questions about SURTR, “Pulvis et Umbra” and Doom Metal for Temple of Perdition.

Andreas asked those visceral doomsters several questions which they nicely answered very quickly and eloquently ; beyond the obvious interest he has for this band, Andreas simply concluded by these words : “Just write that these guys are great people, down to earth and extraordinarily talkative” !!!

Pulvis et Umbra is released from hell today and is available in three formats.
You can buy this album as a CD from Altsphere, Amazon, CDuniverse,..

Pulvis et Umbra is also available as digital from the main legal download platforms iTunes, Amazon mp3,…

At last, for object’s aficionados, the album is also released exclusively by Altsphere Production as a transparent blue vinyl LP limited to 300 hand-numbered copies and inluding CD, stickers and a button (only for the 100 first copies).

Julien replaced for Release Party

SURTR’s bass player Julien Kuhn is injured due to a tough fall. He brokes his left hand collarbone and has a displacement of it.

As Julien cannot play until May, the band decided to find a substitute for the Release Party of its new album Pulvis et Umbra.

On this concert, Surtr‘s bass will be hold by Antonin Rubatat. Julien and Antonin met at the Music Academy International, Nancy, FR from which they are both graduated.

SURTR also decided to cancel all the other shows planned before May.

Actually their next gig will be at the Valley stage at Hellfest Open Air 2013 in June.

We wish a good recovery to Julien.

5/5 on Brutalism.com!

Brutalism.com wrote a really great review of Pulvis et Umbra

Summary: “Surtr’s “Pulvis Et Umbra” is one of the best recorded atmospheric Doom Metal albums that I have heard in a couple years. I highly recommend listening to Surtr if you are a fan of the classic doom bands and want to hear the genre taken a step further. Even if you do not like Doom Metal I think this album’s shear power will capture the attention of any metal fan. Just like the Fire Giant they are named after, I think Surtr will become a force to be reckoned with in the metal community for years to come.
